In Lebap velayat, in January–August 2026, cotton fiber production reached 44.8 thousand tons. This figure is 11.2 thousand tons more compared to the same period last year, and the production growth rate was 33.6 percent. The newspaper “Türkmen gündogary” reports this.
During the reporting period, farmers of the velayat grew 174.2 thousand tons of vegetables. Potato production reached 109.9 thousand tons, and food melon products - 132.1 thousand tons.
Growth has also been achieved in grape production. If in the first eight months of 2025 4.8 thousand tons of grapes were produced, then in the corresponding period of the current year this figure was 5.3 thousand tons. Positive results were also recorded in fruit production.
Production indicators in the livestock industry have also increased in the velayat. In the first eight months of the year, 104.4 thousand tons of meat and 453.2 thousand tons of milk were produced in live weight.
Growth rates were also noted in egg production. During the reporting period, 191.3 million eggs were produced, which is 7.9 million or 4.3 percent more than the same period last year.
In addition, the number of camels on farms in the velayat reached 5.9 thousand. This figure increased by 3.5 percent compared to the corresponding period last year.
The increase in production indicators indicates the consistent continuation of work in the agricultural and livestock sectors of agriculture in Lebap velayat.
