Cotton growers of the Khalap etrap of Lebap velayat are diligently preparing for seasonal work in order to grow a rich harvest of “white gold” this year. In the year of celebrating the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, special importance is attached to increasing productivity in cotton fields.
A recent meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, at which a blessing was given for the start of the cotton harvest on September 9, gave new impetus to the work of the farmers of the etrap. Currently, the necessary preparations are being made in the cotton fields for the timely and uninterrupted harvest of the ripening crop.
There are many tenants in the Magtymguly farmer association who are achieving good results in cotton growing. The farm's land area allocated for cotton production, with an area of 1313 hectares, is distributed among 141 tenants, who are united into 17 groups.
Tenants who have properly carried out agrotechnical measures on the plots assigned to them are aimed at achieving high results this year as well. In particular, such farmers as the tenant of the 13th group of tenants Merdan Khudaiberdiev and the tenant of the 16th group Azat Yazmyradov serve as an example for colleagues in regularly caring for their crops. Last year, these tenants harvested more than 43 centners of cotton from each hectare, proving their efficient work. This year they are working to increase the yield to more than 45 centners per hectare.
During the growing season, work such as inter-row cultivation, fertilizing with mineral fertilizers and ensuring water conditions were regularly carried out on the cotton fields. Thanks to these measures, a good cotton harvest was formed in the fields.
The machine operators of the Obakhyzmat production enterprise in the Khalap etrap provide great assistance to farmers in caring for their crops. Machine operators Gudrat Kulyev and Akhmet Ibatov are distinguished by their hard work in the ongoing agricultural activities.
Currently, in the fields of the farmers' association named after Magtymguly, cotton is ripening, and extensive preparations are underway for cotton harvesting. Similar high-yielding fields can be found in other farmer associations of the etrap.
As the start of the cotton harvest approaches, the pace of work in the Khalap etrap increases even more. Farmers intend to harvest the harvest on time and make a worthy contribution to the successful implementation of the plans set for cotton growing.
