The city of Turkmenabat, located at one of the important crossroads of the ancient Silk Road, currently plays a significant role in the development of the international transport and communication system. The city's modern international airport is a clear example of the work being done in this direction.

Put into operation in February 2018, Turkmenabat International Airport is today one of the important centers for servicing flights between different countries. Its location at a convenient intersection of air routes connecting Europe, Asia and other regions creates ample opportunities for the development of international cooperation.

During the past period of 2026, cooperation between Turkmenabat International Airport and foreign airlines has further expanded. In particular, 15 airlines from 11 countries took advantage of the technical and aircraft refueling services provided by the airport.

Among the companies served are Georgian airlines Georgian Airlines and GEOSKY Airline, Turkish MNG Airlines, Tajik Somon Air, Russian Volga-Dnepr Airlines, Gelix Airlines and Alpha Crux LLC, as well as Belarusian Rada Airlines and RubyStar Airways.

In addition, relevant services were provided to aircraft of the German company FAI Rent A Jet GmbH, Luxembourg Air SA, Chinese DeerJet, American OAC Aviation LLC, Malawian Vise Air Ltd and San Marino TAG Aviation.

Such a wide scale of cooperation with foreign airlines indicates the growing role of Turkmenabat International Airport in the international air transportation system. These connections also contribute to the development of transport and logistics capabilities of Turkmenistan and strengthening international cooperation.
