In the city of Turkmenabat, Lebap velayat, the competition “Altyn Aşygym alçy gop - 2026” was held, organized in order to popularize oral folk art and national types of games.
The key element of the program was competitions in the traditional game of alchiki (“aşyk oýny”), which historically occupies an important place in the education of the younger generation, developing accuracy, dexterity and strategic thinking. The event was attended by schoolchildren, youth and cultural representatives from different parts of the region.
During the competition, participants demonstrated their playing skills and knowledge of the traditional rhyming rhymes (“sanawaç”) that accompany the game. The festive program also included performances by folklore groups and musical numbers.
Based on the results of the jury's decision, the winners and the most active participants of the tournament were awarded memorable gifts and certificates of honor. The organizers emphasized that such initiatives play a key role in the continuity of generations and the preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of the country.
