A student of secondary school No. 9 of the Khalach etrap, Lebap velayat, Jahan Dzhumadurdyeva shows great interest in the national art of carpet weaving. She studies the intricacies of this ancient craft from the experienced craftswomen of her family and sets herself the goal of becoming a skilled carpet weaver in the future.
Jahan's love for the art of carpet weaving was formed in her family environment. Her grandmother is an honored carpet maker of Turkmenistan, and her mother has also been weaving carpets for many years. Therefore, Jahan grew up observing the beauty of this art from childhood, and especially strives to master the intricacies of this craft.
Currently, she is not only learning carpet making techniques from her grandmother and mother, but also weaving carpets herself. The schoolgirl’s abilities in this area manifested themselves in childhood, during the “The Most Charming Girl” competition. While studying in primary school, she distinguished herself by her ability to weave a carpet gracefully and quickly and managed to become the winner of the competition.
The main goal of Jahan Jumadurdiyeva is to more deeply study the traditions of carpet weaving, inherited from our mothers and grandmothers, to continue their rich experience and in the future to create carpet products of a high artistic level.
The diligence of young talent in this area indicates that the love for national values continues to live among the younger generation. The transfer of the art of carpet weaving from generation to generation contributes to the careful preservation of the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people and its transmission to future generations.
